64-66 sway bars

I have a 64 chevy truck and want to put front and rear sway bars on it,I have seen many types in books but my truck does not have the holes for one one the front end.That is there are no holes on the lower control arm. Can these be drilled or do i need to buy newer controll arms for a 66?

I just installed the heavy duty sway bar from Early Classic (sorry ChevyDuty) on my 64. I had to drill two holes in each lower control arm. It's not a problem.

On the rear sway bar, some say it is not necessary and does little.
The front bar will make a large difference. Mine is lowered 3 1/2 inches with 2 1/2 drop spindles and a one inch spring. I used a sway bar mount that tucks the sway bar up closer to the frame so you don't hit stuff with it. Mine is a panel truck and it handles unbeliveable! I love driving into a residential intersection and pulling a U'ie. It just stays flat !!

I too have a 64 chev pu and put both front and rear sway bars on. I droped the front end 2 1/2 inches with Early Classic drop spindels and used 1 inch drop springs in front. I adapted a sway bar from Early classics (they hadn't developed a complete setup at the time) but used stock sway bar perches and links. I also had to drill my lower control arm for the link attachment. Everything works great. I also installed a rear anti sway bar (rear lowered 4 inches with springs) and modified the attachment bracket to fit correctly. The ride is a little more firm but corning is simlar to a slot car.
