I've got a '65 with factory tach. Here is how mine is hooked up:
If you have the original wiring harness, it should have a pink,
brown, and a gray wire. Looking at the back side of the tach, the
brown wire goes to the right terminal and pink to the left term.
The gray operates the light (plugs into fuse block). On the other
end, the pink wire plugs into an acc. receptacle on the fuse
block. The brown wire attaches to the NEGATIVE term. on the coil.
I have a factory assembly manual and double checked this info.
