Are their any mounting difference between a 61's cab and a 65 and if so is it any easy swap? I kinda want to do away with the knee knocking cab.

Yes there are differences. But, it is a do-able project once you line-up the new mount points for the later model cab.

In a word ? Yes. But again, it's not impossible. Just be sure that you are up to speed on your measuring tape skills...

I feel pretty confident with my fabrication and measuring skills so I believe I could do it but the more I think about it I start to wonder if a 61 hood would have the same mounting points as the 65 had. I already know I will have to change over a lot of the flooring due to the fact that the cab comes from a 2wd automatic and mine is a 4wd 4spd. Thanks for all the help.

For the floor, save the trans cover and the front mounting flange for the cover from the old cab. The flange is spot welded to the firewall in a semi-circle. Just cut out the three speed trans hump, from the bottom on the left, right and rear sides and from the top on the front edge. ( trimming to get it right in the front will be necessary) If you sit the big hump trans cover in the three speed cab you will easily see why you need that front mounting flange. With the trans cover and front mounting flange the floor pans will work when swapping the cab onto your 4wd.
