I have a 1966 k-20 3/4 ton 4x4. I would like to change the front diff so i can have disc brakes and newer style locking hubs. Does anyone what diff i can use that fits in a 66? Thanks to all.

I'm about to do this on mine, a 61 4x4. I got a 10 front axle out of an 87 chevy blazer, you can get one from any 72- 87 pickup or blazer. It will bolt right up. You will have to run new brake lines to the front axle with a proportioning valve for the disc brakes up front. I havn't done mine yet because I'm saving for a power booster with the hydrolic clutch set up, its all in one package. Jeremy

Oh yea make sure you find one with gears that will match the rear, unless your going to change the gears out.

Thanks for the information Short Step. I already have the power booster put in the truck but with drums on the front they lock up very easy so a different dif with the discs will work perfect. Thanks again for the tip...
