66 Paint code

I have a red 66 half ton I am restoring. (Ok it is so faded that it looks orange now !) I want to go back with the original color. Where can I find the paint code for this truck ?

On the kick panel, driver side, there should be a tag riveted to the sheet metal there. Near the bottom of that tag, you will find a three digit number stamped into it. That is your paint code. You can cross reference the code at www.autocolorlibrary.com to look at the color chips to confirm it is the correct color. HTH
