    hi all,

I have a 66 C10 and I am looking at getting a 60 C10. My question is, can I use the 66 suspension on the 60? I was about to get the full suspension and disc brake upgrade kit until I found this 60. I'd rather use the 66 parts on it if I can. Can I bolt the 66 crossmember to the 60 frame? What is the best way to go about this?

    Thanks

Yeah i'm pretty sure you can take the front suspenion off the 66 and put it on the 60. i would use the 60 suspension. i have a 61 and the front end has a very nice ride kinda like a caddy but not as boaty. yeah we also have a 64 cadillac ragtop with a 429(coupe de ville).

Hi Evers, The 60 frame is narrower than the 66. It is not a bolt in.

It may be possible, but is not as simple as a 63-66 swap.

If I cant bolt up the crossmember do you know if I can use the 66 suspension? the A arms look smaller on the 60, will the 66 A arms bolt up to the 60, if not is there a kit to do this? I really dont want the torsion bar suspension, I know some people prefer it but I want this to be a tight handling truck.

    Thanks

Ok, I took measurements of all the bolt holes and mount points of the 66 crossmember and went to the junkyard to measure the 60. they all match up perfectly! the 60 frame is narrower under the cab but it is the same up by the crossmember and engine.

Now, what about the rear end? The trailing arms on the 60 look to be in pretty bad shape, but I cant get under the truck to measure all the mount points. Will the 66 trailing arms bolt right up to the 60?

    Thanks
