New member here, ok I've researched many posts here but I'm still confused. Want to install P.S. on my 70 C/10. What year boxes will fit? What about tie rods pitman arms ETC... Sorry if this subject is beat to death. Thanks John

1967 up to about 1980 should bolt right on. the ones off of the 4x4 seem to have a better ratio... they bolt right on.
I think the pitman arm will bolt on but you will have to just eyeball it and use trial and error, I have done my last 3 68/69/69
I just mix and match the parts at the junk yard till I find the right combo..
    good luck.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON Feb-04-05 AT 07:37 PM (CST)]'68-'87 boxes will bolt in. I'm pretty certain that you cannot use box from a 4x4 on two wheel drive front end. Make sure you research this carefully before you spend $$ on one. As I recall when I did the PS refit in my '70 GMC some time ago, the rag joint is reversed, so you'll have to swap the one on the old manual box, onto the end of the shaft, and it will mate to the half on the new PS gear box. Since the new box is a little longer, the plastic pins in the collapsible shaft section will have to be knocked out, so the shaft can slide up to accomodate the extra length. Tie rod ends werent an issue, and I used the pitman arm that came attached to the donor gear box. Front end alignment was a necessity afterward. Get the gear box, and pump from the same donor to make certain you dont have to custom build hose ends. HTH.
