Sirs, I have a 6 cyl. auto 80 Gmc pick up. It's an older man's truck. It's in good cond with 91000 mi. I had a rebuilt short block installed in it. The garage which installed the short block supposedly installed new sparkplug wires. They ran the wires through a one foot section of garden hose to arrange them I guess. Would this cause the truck to misfire and give me poor gas mileage. I've had discussions with a couple of old timers and the say this wouldn't affect the drivability of my truck. Any comments????? tnks.

Depends on the quality of the wires. if they're run of the mill wires there is a little thing called "induction". what happens is the voltage going down one wire induces a voltage in to the next wire, or all the wires. Then you know what will happen. keep the wires as seperated as possible..then see how she runs..Ed
