82 GMC Suburban

I own a GMC 82 Suburban, 6.2L Diesel, Starcraft package. It is pretty ragged right now. I'm thinking of a restoration project and maybe changing out the engine to a high horsepower gas type.

Does anyone know a good reference to determine part compatibility, body panel replacements, any useful info?
