Ken-I can only hope it was a pole, or shed door or something like that. I hope it wasn't another vehicle. I think that crease is more of an optical illusion. There are several dents and the fender has been flattened a bit, but I think the light was catching it just right last night. It doesn't look that bad in person. The right rear is by far the worst. Family history has it that my great grandpa continued driving it longer than he should have. I suspect that accounts for most of the body damage.

Nate-You are correct! I personally like that style of cap better than the original plain moon type. That, plus I only have two 15" wheels that have the clips for the original caps. The only other thing not original to the truck (besides the 235) is the seat. That roll and pleat beauty came from a '48 Chevy 4-door sedan I found in my favorite junk yard (which, unfortunately, is long since gone :( ). I believe I paid $10 for it, and it is tons more comfortable than the old truck seat.

One of these days I may have to paint the old thing. The original paint is wearing thin. It has worn through on the tops of the front fenders. I really don't want to have to paint it, but may have to in the name of preservation

Nice truck! Are you ever in the St.L area with it? There's one running around the county that looks similar (rear bumper and current tags).

    Thanks for the kind words!!!

BLUEMEANIE- probably not my truck. I've only had mine as far east as Bourbon. I keep it mostly between Rolla and St. James. I would like to see the truck you are talking about, though.

Lucky you! That looks mighty fine! Much like my truck, they probably kept driving it after the brakes crapped out. I'm pretty sure the PO of mine used the fenders as a way to stop the truck. I can still hear him now... "Ah hell, it's just a WORK truck!... DANG! I spilled my beer all over the floor board on that one! WHOOODiddLY!!!"

;)Nice Truck, But I think you need New Rubber for the windshield. Before windshieldbreaks or pops out. Would be a shame to lose the glass. Do they not make goodrubber for them?

    Martinius-

It works well in dry climates like Arizona, Texas or Southern California. I tried it here in good ole Missouri one summer. Our humidity level is usually around 80% in the summer. It didn't work so well.

The swamp cooler is now gone. Its sale has financed some "new" parts for the '51.

Tim, you need to quantify your answer!:D Texas is a big state. Down here on the gulf coast, our humidity exceeds our temps 90% of the year, and we baste in mid 90's during the summer. West Texas and the Panhandle region enjoy relatively low humidity and evaporative coolers work extremely well, especially in home cooling.

Sorry Ken. I didn't mean to lump all of Texas into one climatic region. Sometimes I forget how varied the climate and landscape of Texas are. It doesn't help any that the only part I've been to is the panhandle and west Texas. :D As a matter of fact, I seem to remember that my uncle, who lived in Hobbs, NM (extreme SE NM) had a swamp cooler for his house. It worked great. I had never seen anything like it before.
