I decided I know more about properly tuning InLine 6 Banger engines than does the Federal Govt. so even though the truck flew through the SMOG test , I bumped the timing up 2° to 10° BTDC @ 600 RPM's then I adjusted the carby's idle mixture by ear & vacuum instead if the mandated 100 RPM lean idle drop method .

It now starts faster cold or hot , idles much smoother and has a better off - idle feel , it shifts smoother too and has more power with less throttle application .

It runs SO much smoother it's amazing . I can drive it in top gear @ 35 MPH feathering the throttle and it won't lug .

Phooey on those stupid-o-crats in Washington , I'm expecting better fuel economy too .
