Hello, I have one more question again. The gas pedal of my truck has a clearence about 3cm = 1.18" from zero acceleration to full speed. I think thats a little bit to small. What can be the reason of this small clearance? I think the way from zero to full speed must be larger. The top of the pedal has a spacing about 11 cm = 4.33" to the bottom of the cap. Can it be that I install the bellcrank wrong. Which of the arms shows to the engine block, the long one with the two holes or the short one with one holes? Ask Wolfgang
By pix 2 & 3 it looks O.K. to these old eyes..... You can flip the bellcrank but then the vertical throttle rod won't be vertical and it'll rub on the manifold .
Turning the bellcrank Hello Nate, I changed the bellcrank. I've turned it with arm with the two holes to the engine block and the arm with the one hole to the inner fender. I doesn't be sure that there is any difference to the situation before. I'll go to a feind who has a 1949 truck and measure the space between the pedal and the bottom of the cab. Wolfgang
Cribbing That's a good idea Wolf ; Having a similar rig to look at and get soluions / ideas from , is very handy . I'm keen to know what the problem was as there are several different bell cranks and horizontal throttle rods too , truck is different from car and 216 is different from 235...
