had a 1984 vbelt 2 wire alternator in my 1965 c10 with hosts alt conversion kit-52-896 white wire and blue wire. changed motor and went to serpentine belt system out of a 1989 chev truck. this alternator only has one brown wire plugged in top, need to know which wire to attach to brown on top of alt and what to do with other wire -both have same red bolted on back
i have the same setup. i unplugged the external regulator , ran the brown wire from alt to brown wire in the external regulator harness. ran red wire to back of alt. once that was done i turned the switch on to see if my alt light came on.then i started the engine , the light went out and the system is charging may be an easier way but this is what worked for me. hope this helps and good luck
