Here's another entry for your dictionary of useless facts. A lot of people are using crate engines now for their V8 conversions with the Ram Jet 350 being the most popular. This engine has the Tuned Port Injection (TPI) and the fuel supply line is 5/16 which is what the AD's came with. All seems good except the hole in the shut off valve on the bottom of the tank and the hole in any flare union you might use is less than a 1/4" in size. These computer controlled engines are very sensitive to everything being exactly as designed with no leeway. The wires cannot be shortened or lengthened and I just found out the hard way the same applies to fuel line sizing. The pump operates at 60psi and provides the proper flow through a 5/16 line with NO restrictions. If you use the in tank pump with new plumbing all the way there would be no problem but this set up is in a 55 Nomad that has a sculptured tank to clear the rear end housing and the spare tire well so an external pump was used which means several fittings in the line for tank, pump, and filter. The I.D. of the 5/16 line which is 1/4" MUST be maintained throughout all connections.
