Still in pieces and I have never posted a photo of it. Pesky day job interferes, plus I spend all my free time in winter on skiis. Drivetrain is mostly done and the cab is on the frame for good. I tried to keep the body as original as possible. It sits a little higher off the ground than original and the wheels are further to the outside of the fenders. I used the in-frame gas tanks and so had to put the filler neck in the left rear fender.
Afghans If you visit any thrift store in the world, you will most likely find one of the millions of UGLY afghans my grandmother knitted during the last 30+ years of her life and just sew them together. (looks just like what this guy did - and what is that on top of the roof? looks like giant acorn or maybe a medicine ball?) You have just given me a great idea for the bedspread my grandma knitted for me back in the 80's for my king size water-bed. That thing was huge and it reached to the floor on all 4 sides! It has to be big enough to cover my truck. I also have a canopy from the ('07'?) superbowl in miami that might work, but it is a little big at 27'x39'!
I took a piece out of each frame rail (and shortened the drive shaft) to suit the fore/aft wheelbase. The donor truck was about 18" too long, which was intentional, since I would rather shorten a frame than lengthen it. I don't intend to be as tough on the fenders as Gypsy Truck.
Can't remember... There is a beautiful blue (Chevy) 4 wheeler on here somewhere. I just can't recall the name right now. It is a beautiful truck, though.
HAS to be this one, and I agree (nice looking truck, nice color). Member name is Blue Bowtie. His avitar shows a nice shot from the front.
I am only clarifying - those were not pics of my truck - i had just come across them and posted for the benefit of the 4x4 inquiry on here. No big deal - just wanted to clarify.
