Fenton headers on a 1958 chevy 235 engine going into a 1951 chev 3800. Did test run today,6 miles around the country block. GREAT RUN, Except for carb adjust and timing issues. Fresh co0olant just added, temperature stayed at thermostat ed 180 degree, Oil pressure stayed pegging the old oil guage at 30 pounds. Pulled back into shop and a puddle showed up under truck. Rear driver side frost plug had sprung a leak. I want to install a temporary expandable plug in the leaking hole to try and get me thru summer. Question # 1, When I ask at parts store, What is the diameter of the frost plug holes? Question # 2 Does anybody have a pair of Fenton's for a 235 on the shelf. Would you PLEASE confirm the exhaust diameter to be 2 inches AND are the Flange bolt holes 3.25 inches apart. The shop making my exhaust needs these measurements to make me some exhaust pipes so if I can go to a car/ truck show next saturday. I would be forever grateful Thanks, Jerry

    Parts & measurements

Ask Joe DeadZoneTruckin here at the forum(Tuscon) AR. about the headers or Patricks Cars & Trucks in Casa Grande AR. or Tom Langdon Stovebolt.com
They`ll give you the measurements aswell.

    Freeze (Welch) Plugs

Just use a blunt drift (I use a 3/8" drive extension) to bang the old leaky plug in edge wise then hand carry it to your FLAPS .

I highly recommend using brass plugs , they're less likely to leak and they'll never , ever corrode .
