You're a picture posting pro now aren't you Zig. Did you do these paintings? They look great. The little girl on the bike, you better watch her in about 15 years, you'll need to get that bat out. My little nephew loves to sit on my motorcycle.

    Yup

Yup- that's some of my stuff. Goes to show you what some good wine and good tunes can do to my mind. Can't wait to redirect that to my truck. At least in a bigger way than I have. (Hence the rattle cans :D)

I love the picture of my daughter on my neighbor's bike. May she someday feel the freedom of going down the road just like that. (Only WITH a helmet)

I did fail my first test. I only knocked the pebble out of TB'sD's hand. One picture worked, the others didn't post with the text- I WILL get this!!!! I really am a 47 YOF that's trying to get this tec stuff down- I had to bring these pictures in from my Camedia Master files, so at least I got this far?

Yes. More to come of another project. I'm a visual learner, so what do you expect?

    Graphics

Hey Zig, ever thought about doing the graphics on a Sheriff Department D.A.R.E Car (Drug Abuse Resistance Education)? I am applying for a grant to get a new 2007 F**D Mustang GT 500. I want some outstanding/Awsome graphics on it. You just might be the ticket, besides, Kansas aint that far Dorthy. The car fully rigged out will be about 65.000, I believe the Sheriff would allow me to spring a few buck your way?????

We'll let ya put your name on it????

COOL!! ...but only if you can wrap the car in canvas or paper...:(

I know why only one photo worked the way I wanted it to- the others are to big. The one that posted is a very cropped part of a much bigger picture. I suppose there is no way to reduce the size of a photo? I'm sure there is, I just don't know what it is. Yet.

    Graphic Resizer

Zig, here is a link to a program that will easily and quickly resize your graphics. http://www.freewarefiles.com/program_3_220_18760.html

If you have a question or problem with it just ask, I'll help

It's seems to always work best to convert from ??? to jpeg for a smaller size picture.

I always use jpegs cause they are smaller files. People who work with graphics all the time say they can see a difference in the quality of a photo between say, jpeg and gif but I can't. It is like having a 2 megapixel camera compared to a 6 megapixel camera. The only way I can see a difference is if I have them side by side. Otherwise the 2 megapixel looks fine.

The advantage to a smaller file size is that it will load faster and you can put more photos on a page if there is a limit to the total file size.

There are a lot of graphics packages out there. PhotoShop by Adobe is a good one but you would probably only use about 10% of what it is capable of so it would be a waste of money. It is also a big memory hog on your computer. I use Paintshop a lot cause it is pretty easy and not too expensive.

From what you are trying to do the freeware that Boop's Dad suggests should be fine. Just play around with it till you get it the size you want.

I can't wait to see the whole image cause, being a right angle kinda guy I have to see the whole thing. Then I can't promise that I will "get it".

Zig, I've got a great idea!

You need to paint a picture (in abstract of course) of a fat fendered AD truck. I'll market it for you and we'll make a gazillion dollars. Here's my thought. An AD, lowered with really fat wheels and tires with a huge blower coming out of the hood. With me so far? Now the fun part! It's blazing down a road and sucking up everything in it's path into the blower. Vintage F**ds, old Dodges, maybe a desoto, packard, etc, etc. Then, out of the tailpipe, it's spitting out rice burners, honda's, toyota's, mazda's, etc etc. No, wait, instead of the rice burners coming out of the tailpipe, have them coming out of specially designed headers by "Flipper". Of course, we'll have to cut Flipper in on some of the profits, but what the heck. Then, when we're rich and famous, everybody on this forum can say "Yeah, we knew them when they were just crazy. But now, they're RICH and crazy!" Mom has already approved this, so let's get on it, Bro!

I've got first dibs on that painting. It would look great in my vintage tin bonus room in the house. Make it pretty good size though 'cause I got a wall that it would look perfect on.

Wait! The prototype will be too expensive!

Be patient! The first 100 or so of them will be too expensive! And you've got to save up for that crate motor. Zig and I have got a plan! We'll sell the first one's to the AD wannabes, then will customize the rest at a huge discount to our buddies on this forum. I can see it now. Kevin, yours will have a pink possum in the bed saying "I'm not gay, somebody painted me that way!" Brit50 and Mel will have one with "Ashes to ashes, pi$$ on Oz" on the side of the doors. Tailgater's will be so long that we'll have to get bigger paper to print it on (Sorry Tailgater, no discount for you. Cost of paper, you know). Nate will have his foster kids, SWMBO, and 2 ex-cons in the back going thumpa, thumpa, thump with CHP's following him on Harleys! You won't be able to see Steve O's because it will be in a smoke fog! Boop's will have long curly hair out of the driver's side and a bible out of the passenger side, with Elvis blaring out of the massive speakers mounted in the bed. Kyle's will have 2 Holley 750's on top of the blower with a caption saying: "Damn, carbys ARE cool!" Hanlon will say, i knew i shoulda got an AD instead of that ol' GMC TF lookalike! Just the beginnings! More to come!

Speaking of Vintage Tin bonus room........

I'm pretty proud that Tab let me have one room in our house to do with it what I wanted. We headed out and found some vintage tin metal signs and a corvette lamp and I even made a coffee table out of a BMW M5 rim. I couldn't believe that I got to do it. I think that she is even hooked on it now because she just brought me home 6 more signs the other night. Gotta love a woman that's behind your hobby right. I also have all of my die cast cars on display up there. Mostly vintage street rods but I do have a corvette and a couple of BMW models that I won through BMW. I thought I'd post a few pics and let you guys see. Enjoy the pics.

    A couple more.........

I forgot to mention in the post above this one that in the last picture notice in the floor a tan colored AD truck with a Black Lab like mine (Max) is in the bed. Dad got that for me for Christmas. Here is the last of the pics. The corvette lamp starts up and sounds like it is driving away. Love that lamp.....

I don't know where you come up with this stuff but I love it. You're right I should know this with the car business. Never buy the first year anything, things only get better with time.

I've left some off, but it's early!

Kevin, love the Vintage room! Of course, you're missing some key ingredients. You need to get a Wayne model 515 visible gas pump, real deal, not repop, a '57 Chevy fuel injection system to use as a paperweight on the Beamer table, (I assume that you already have butt massagers in the chairs!).

I'm still thinking of a good pic for Coilover. It's gotta be classic, with a touch of new age, but yet with the classic lines that got us here. Just thought of Chiro's. Huge barbeque pitt in the back with a sign saying "Breather caps 1 dollar, road draft tubes, 2 dollars!"

Are you kidding a visible pump, what am I made of money or what. Those go for thousands of dollars and are very hard to find around here. Dad has some 40's and 50's model soda machines that I've thought about restoring and putting up there. Also I have a few old hoods that aren't worth their weight in scrap that I thought about cutting the middle out of and putting a clear plexiglass shelving in the middle to display the cars in. Right now I've got another wheel and just waiting to get a hub so that I can make an end table that will spin. Who know what I'll come up with next.

Coilover, that ones tough but I know you'll come up with something.

Ken- all I can say is... YOU DA MAN!!!

I was dying!!!! Of course, I could picture each one of those ideas as I was reading them! I think I,d skip the f#*ds and things being sucked in, only 'cause I wouldn't want to put a F--- in front of a Chevy. (Even for a good reason like getting munched!) (Not to mention- me drawing a F*%d???)
Mine would have a big box of Franzia in the bed with drops of red wine coming out the back and tears coming out the window above my arrowheads. I gotta do a T-Shirt design for PSU this weekend, but NEXT weekend, I'm all over this!

Kevin, awesome resting place! What is under the locking lamp base???
...just curious... It looks like a great place to get right with the world and collect your thoughts on the direction of an AD.

That's where I spend almost all of my time when I'm at home. I made it like a theatre up there and all my car stuff is there and I just really do enjoy that room. The key on the lamp is like an ignition key. You turn the key to the accessory position to turn the light on and turn it to the start position to hear the car start up and take off. Really cool lamp, plus it's my favorite car, a corvette, on the lamp. I do spend a lot of time looking through catalogs and custom truck magazines up there.
