I have a 1965 Chevy with a good smooth running 230. I have a 350 I want to swap it out with. I am not decided on my tranny yet. Either a turbo 350 or 700R4. My question is this: since my 230 runs so well, I hate to replace it just yet. Would an automatic mate to my 230, and how well will it perfrom? I don't expect a hot rod, but I would like to have comperable power. I currently have a 4 spd w/ granny gear. I don't pull or tow anything. I just use my truck as a daily driver, mostly to work. I am starting to really dislike the shifting thing. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.
