Is 9 1/2" the standard size for baby moon hubcaps? And will they fit on a set of 15" Rally rims?

I believe that is the standard. Can't say for sure about ralley's though. They WILL fit on a set of 15 inch chrome reverse because that's what I'm running. Old School !!! love it !

Where's a good place to buy chrome reverse wheels? Any luck at junkyards? I'm kinda stingy. I'm looking for a set to get powdercoated with trim rings and the '52 style hubcap. I think they'll look pretty nice when I lower my truck. I like those or slotted mags; I haven't found them in six-lug yet. . . but there's no hurry.

OK Here comes the "Best Deal I ever found story". (Actually it's the second best deal)

I was in need of the floor pan piece to complete a high hump trans cover installation and found a guy with his own private bone yard. Went out to meet the guy and the piece is on a 65 stepside that was in a bad front end wreck. The truck ALSO had a set of Goodyear Eagle GT II's on a set of 15 inch chrome reverse. Had baby moons on all but one in front. (got launched in the collision.) He says $250 for all. I say I'm not sure if it will fit in the rear wheel well of my 64 panel, can I take one with me and check for fit ? Sure , he says.

It fit, went back, (without the tire & rim), and let the dogs of haggling loose. Back and forth for 10 minutes and walked out with the remaining three for $160. That was two years ago and the tires still have lots of tread left.

What was the Number 1 best deal story ?

    Sorry, that's another story.... ;)

Dennis, that's a whole lot better than what happened to me today. I got out of school at noon and hopped in the old hauler to see about a '60 hood "for sale" on a truck sitting in a field somewhere in town. I drove to the next town to talk to the owner of the truck with the hood on it. He wasn't there so I went next door to his neighbors house to see where he'd gone( it's okay, I know these people). He was still at work, but my neighbor called him and he told me to meet him in an hour or so to talk about the hood and some other parts, as I had noticed a trailer full of parts: doors, fenders, three '60 grills and a nice core support. I waited around for two hours for the guy before he showed. Turns out, he wanted to sell me the whole truck and he had no idea what the grills or core support would be worth and told me to talk to a friend of his who owned a junkyard. Unforunately, his friend with the junkyard was the owner of 'Little John's Wrecking'. I would never buy a used quart of oil from this guy! My dad calls him Long John(as in the pirate), since he has never charged a fair price to anybody, even his own mother. I'll never get a good deal on these parts unless I buy the whole truck, which I have no room for. I'm still trying, maybe I can get the truck for $500, take the hood and some prime parts and sell what's left, but I hate to give these things the chop shop treatment. They should stay together! Anybody interested in a reeaall cheap project with no hood, motor or trans? C'mon, I'll make you a deal! }>
