i my truck in forth gear will only rev 2000. but in the lower gears it will rev to 4 or so. While in 4th gear and at 2000 i only do about 50-55 mph. And i get whoe able gas mileage, is that the cause of bad springs/valve train?

If you are getting better than 6 mpg,,, it's NOT horrible yet ! MINE is horrible. 3: 70 rear ratio and granny = horrible. Premium gas at $2.25 a gallon is a nightmare !

Yes sir, back when gas was cheap nobody believed in good fuel mileage, just how much power you could get. Cowboy, valve springs wont help you much, if you got some crazy gear rario, valves wont mean anything. I think DV said premium up his way was $2.25, it's only $1.85 here, but that's still high considering it was $.95 here about 6 years ago.

well it might not help my gas mileage but it will help restore my top end a little better.

Hey Cowboy, have you considered changing your cam to one that produces more torque in the RPM rang your running?
