bad with numbers

    im stumped ! im trying to find out what the stamped numbers on the [ not stock engine ] that is in the truck i have. can anybody help ? they are 270987972 this is a 55 chevy 3800

    Most likely a GMC 270 inline 6 cylinder. Is this where you found the number? (click on the picture to make it larger) If so, Nate will be jealous.
