Has anyone had any problems getting headers to fit with a small block swap? CAn any one tell me which headers work? I have a 60, I swapped the front crossmember and suspension from an 87 under it, with a 350. I have some headman shorties but they hit the frame. I want to try some block huggers, but all the ones I find look like theyre gunna dump right onto the crossmember. Anyone have any solutions? I'm planning on running the exhaust out under the fender wells with a Y-pipe on each side, one going to an open exit right behind the front wheels but with caps, so it can also run straight back through mufflers to exit just in front of the rear wheels. Anybody had any luck with fender well exit headers?

Alot Of People Here Have Had Good Luck With The Block Huggers, D Valintine Can Show You A Pic Of His Setup. I Used Hooker Perfomance Headers That Are For 60's Trucks. I Also Used Cable Operated Turnouts Just After The Collector On My Headers. I Prefer To Have The Cable Operated Compared To The Caps Because I Like To Open And Close Them As Im Driving. I enjoy scareing the foriegn car kids. (got To Watch For The Cops) You Do Have To Spring Load The Lever Otherwise You Can End Up With A Leak. Also You Have To Braze Them On. I Finished Out The Exhaust A Foot Past The rear Bumper With Flowmasters. I Went A Foot Past Because Im Running A Flame Thrower Kit And I Dont Want To Melt My Paint. Look In Jegs Catalog For The Hookers If Thats The Way You Want To Go.

Actually??? Because I moved my motor forward, shorty block huggers didn't work. They hit the crossmember too. If the motor is in the stock location shortie block huggers should fit SO LONG AS THE COLLECTOR FLANGE POINTS STRAIGHT DOWN, not pitched OUT, a lot of them do.

I used Chevelle 3/4 shorties in mine, but I don't think they would work in a truck with a standard trans.
