It was recomended that I use a long or medium fiber ball bearing grease on my front weel bearings. Can't seem to find it, I have found short fiber though. What does any one else use on theirs?
Wheel Bearing Grease I used short fibre Moly based , high temp. grease on the ball bearings in my '49 for 20 years and never had any failures . Long fibre grease is easy ~ look for the cheapo wheel bearing grease ~ it's usually brown or tan in color .
Thanks Nate, that's what I'll use. I've been using Napa wheel bearing grease and was told it's the wrong stuff. The tranny has been great by the way.
Bearing Grease NAPA sells many different types of grease , as long as it's not white lithium grease you'll be fine . BTW : white lithium grease is good stuff , ~ it's super long fiber for non rotating parts like chassis lube , ball joints , A - Frame pivots , tie rod ends , clutch linkages so on and so forth . A properly equipped shop , even a home shop , should have several different types of grease in guns and pots . Grease is cheap , more so when you buy it at yard sales and Auto Jumbles .
