FINALLY... took my daughter and I two solid days but, we got the wood installed. Have to go back tomorrow and tighten up the bolts but other than that, that part is done.

I do have one question though...

I have a slight bow in the front part of the bed that is causing a larger than I want gap in the edge of the wood at the tailend. What can I use to somehow squeeze the two ends together...if that makes any sense...

I was thinking 6' furniture clamps (if they come that big)

Didn't your bed strips pull in the bow on the front when you installed them? I used a 2X4 from under the front of the bed to wedge it back slightly as I tighened everything up and that pulled the front in straight.

The wood looks great! Good Job!

nope, the strips didn't pull in the bow. i must just use a 2x4 block and a hammer on the outside of the front bottom of the bed and see if I can "tap" the bow out. It is only about 1/8"....maybe a 1/4" at the most.
we haven't tightened the bolts yet so everything "should" move. (famous last words...)
