Big Block in 62 SB

I can p/u a 400ci with a 400 turbo attached to it. Will it fit into my 62 without lots of work. It is out of a Chev 1 ton.

The 400 is a small block, it should fit with any problems.

Is it a BB 400 or SB 400? Do you currently have a small block v8 or the inline 6? Is the tranny a short shaft or long shaft? We need more info to help you out.

It's a BB 402. It used to have a inline 6 cylinder. I don't know if it is a short or long tail shaft. Which one would be easier?

Ahh, a 402.

There is no bolt in kit for a big block that I know of. To put in a small block all you have to do is change the pearches/motor mounts. Correct me if I'm wrong but I thing the short shaft 400 will fit without cutting the driveshaft.

Finding exhaust headers that fit will be a problem...

The driveshaft should be measured for after the motor & trans are in. Shortening a drive shaft isn't all that expensive by a good driveline shop. Around $100 ...
