As promised here are some pics of my beautiful GMC!!! Installed "new" used door from Jim Carters. Installed new weatherstripping all around. Installed back window with new seals Installed new vent window seals Installed new glass channel seals. Installed new patch cowl panel that is primed in white. Adjusted all doors and windows Now I don't take any credit for this work except that I work hard to pay for it. I don't mind doing lots of the mechanical work on it, however when it came to this repair. I felt I was way over my head as well as a lack of tools.
I never learned body work past remove & replace. This is good as nothing has fell apart on the highway. I figure it is well worth the money to get someone good to doit right the first time.
G, That's BEAUTIFUL!!! Way to go, Brian! And now you CAN park it on the street! Time to get that rattle can going. Looks like you have the inside of the door to paint black. (This should be a good weekend to do that!) You're getting there!
Lookin good there Wolf . Dont Ya feel all closed in with doors on it though . . Heres a Pic of Me taking My wifes friend for a ride around the property in My 56 , the other day , I thought You might be able to relate to it . . Bob
that is too funny!! i can totally relate to that. Here is a pic of my dad taking my mom out for a spin! Paul: I will do inside of the doors as well as the roof inside soon. then my interior will be rattle canned up!!
yeah the parts guy at Jim Carters was great. He went through all the doors they had and helped me get the best one.. This one i supper straight, the paint is no worse then the rest of my truck, and it doesn't have any rust. so all it all i think i got a good deal. At least like Paul said I can park it on the street. Now if I can just get it running good its off to the races
