I'm replacing the entire wiring harness on my '52 pickup. I've convinced myself that it would be easier to not have to fight around the center support/brace behind the gauge clusters. And "while I'm there" would be nice to clean it up and the vent lever brace, which came out straightforward.

After getting the bolts loose I found that there is not enough room to move the bracket toward the dash to clear the studs that go through the firewall.

Am I missing something or did they put this brace in before the dash and it's not coming out?

Gave up and moved forward and installed wiring harness, which turned out to be not as much of a battle as I expected. Having the center dash section out helps quite a bit.
