My booster is `67 caprice if I remember, master is 67 chevy truck drum/drum. booster is bolted right to the fire wall, your margin of error will be very tight this way, but overall I like it better, you`ll need to adjust the length of your pedal rod and relocate the position of the rod on your pedal arm lower by about one inch, you`ll need to determine that when you get everything mounted.
How did you mount yours? looks like its pretty close to the firewall. There is another guy on a diff forum that makes and sell brackets. I just dont know if i need one yet. I like the way his bracket looks cause its nice and close to the fire wall. And last night i found out neither one of the booster i have are any good. so i'm back on a search for a nother one. I'm thinking about just putting a manual MC on for disc brake and calling it good. ??
Manual Disc Brakes Yes , that will work just fine . You merely need a strong leg but still less push than with the manual drum brakes...
booster I found an 8 inch dual diaphram booster from a late 70's malibu. Plenty of clearance and stops on a nickel..
I also do not like a big booster hanging on the firewall so use frame mount set up when possible. If not practicle then used to use the remote mount booster and cylinder like 57 T-Bird or the early Lotus and Alpha which had the booster/cylinder in the trunk. You keep the factory master cylinder on the firewall to activate the remote unit. There is a remote unit available, PBR VH44, but the new Mustang power unit which works off the power steering pump is barely bigger than the manual one. Chevy pickups have also had a hydra-boost for some time but are considerably bigger than the Mustang. Void this if you don't have p/s.
On my 1965 I use my OEM 1961 Brake Booster, never leave home without it. Works well on pretty much everything I have ever driven.
I plan on using a hydroboos off of an Arostar van. Here is a pic of it with th pushrod cut off . I was going to run the little 8" one in the back ground. but since my 60 has a hydraulic cutch I ran into some clearance issues.
