Hey Nate, et al, can someone tell me if the rear 1" wheel cylinders for a 54 1/2 ton should look exactly like the ones in the catalogs. Mine have the rubber boots on the outside and the catalog ones appear to have a flush or internal boot. Also am I correct in that the front brakes are 2" with 1 1/8 wheel cylinders and the rear are 1 3/4 with 1" wheel cylinders. I converted my front and rear to bendix brake backing plates from what are supposed to be 54 vintage but I have some mismatched parts and I want to make sure I buy the correct replacements. :confused:My catalogs don't tell what the differences are in the brake shoes and all my tech data is for a 49.

    Thanks

    Your dimensions are correct.
The replacement cyls do have the flush boots. In my opinion they are better as they are protected. I installed them on my truck and they are working just fine.
