Does anyone know, will 1971-72 replacement foam work with 1973-76 seat frames?

I am not an authority on upholstery, but I would think that so long as the foam fits/fills in the seat frame they should be able to upholster it on it , but why not buy the correct foam for the seat year you have 73-76.

I'm re doing a 72 and would like to keep things as close to stock as possible. My guesss has been that the frames are pretty much the same, hoping I can use 72 foam and upolstery.

Jef5150, I think he talking about bucket seat foam, NOT A BENCH SEAT

Do you already have the foam and if not why not buy the correct foam for the seat frame or vice versa?

    Technically it will fit

but you will have lumps and it will look like crap because 73 and up foam is larger...but you can make it fit!

Do you know where I can find seat foam for 73 low back buckets? How does this compare to the 67-72 foam? Will 72 upholstery work with 73 foam?

I have a 72, with 73 Blazer buckets. My goal is to have 72 "stock" upholstery on my seats. Is this possible?

72 this but those are 73 and a 72 "stock" upholstery possible 67 or might be 71??????

your Not gonna have 72 "stock" upholstery if your using 73 blazer frames with 72 covers .:(

anyone with any/little knowledge will know they arent stock
whatever year the seat frames are.. thats the year upholstery products you buy.

your making this way too complicated

    Buy 73 foam,
    73 covers
drill 2 Rear holes in the floor(they wont fit in 72 stock hole locations)
mount them and have fun !!!

or have your original seat recovered

Well Hoosier what did you decide?

If you have the 72 foam are you gonna get some 72 frames to match them and stay original, or sell the 72 foams and buy 73 foam to match the 73 frame I guess you already have?

On ebay you can purchase 71-72 frames pretty frequently, they usually run aywhere between 250.00 / 400.00 dollars for used upholsterey needing seats.

or you can also sell your 72 foams on ebay and then start over!

Haven't decided yet. I have quite a bit of work ahead of me before I get to the interior. In the mean time, I'll keep my eyes open for a ste of 72 frames. Appreciate a heads up if you happen to see a good deal.
