Hey Guys, I was just checking one of my catalogs and I see two different bumpers listed one for the regular ADs and then one for panel trucks. As I have a Panel I was wondering if there really is a difference in the rear bumpers or is it just a way for this vendor to list bumpers for panels in their catalog. I was under the impression they were the same.

Craig, panel trucks and suburbans used the same bumper on the front and back. PU's used 2 different bumpers, as the rear on the pu's had a slightly different curvature.

Okay, now all I have to do is figure out which, if any, of the four bumpers I have are for the panel. Any easy way to tell? Are they marked in any way, something peculiar or maybe easy like an actual part number. Mine are in storage so I can't get to them right now to see what they look like.

Craig, about the easiest way would be to bolt your rear bumper brackets on and hold the bumpers up in place. Like Ken said, the pickup rears are different so the holes would mis-match by quite a bit. These old brackets are many times off by half a hole or so but the wrong bumper is off by around 1 1/2" or so if I remember right.

    Re-pop Bumper WARNING !

The re-pop AD bumpers really suck as they're not properly dished so bumperettes and grille guards etc. will have a big gap between them and the face of the bumper ~ it's always better to have your old bent , twisted rusted to crap bumper re-chromed .

The stainless steel AD bumpers were really good but I think they stopped making them .

DO NOT use Bumper Boyze ! or any other chrome shop with a cutsie-poo ghetto/barrio retarded name .

PERIOD remember I warned you .
