    Hello everyone,
Just found the site tonight and first post. Tons of great info here.
Well, I am looking at a 1968 C-20 camper spl. Decent truck, but I am concerned about one problem - rust on the top of both sides of the gutter above the cab. It's not real bad rust, just residual.
How difficult is this to fix? I guess the question really is how do you fix this rust problem?
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks.
    Mike

Hi Mike, Welcome to the forum.

Is that rust just "surface" rust ? Or deeper ? Rot in these areas can spell trouble in others. Check the floor where it meets the kick panel. If you find a significant amount there, check the hinge pillars close.
Rot in the roof near the drip rails is usually caused by the sealant in the drip rails becoming compromised and leaking water inbetween the outter sheet metal and the inner. If let go, it will rot the truck, sight unseen, from the inside out.

If the roof only has surface rust that can be taken care of by a good body shop.
