What are the cab difference between my 51 cab and a cab from a 54 or 55. Mine is a 3 window, but i am not worried about 3 or 5 window cabs. I am wanting to put a 1 piece windshield into my 51. The aftermarket glass is 400-600, but if the glass from a 54 cab would fit, the price would be a lot cheaper. Thanks ________ Suzuki cervo specifications
Kyle, i'm pretty sure that the '54-55.1 windshield won't work in a '51 cab. The dash and front cowl are completely on the 54's and 55.1's versus the 47.2 thru 53's.
cabs The 54-55 windshields are one piece, whereas the earlier trucks are 2 piece. You can however get a special what they call v-bent windshield where its all one piece, not sure what this entails though!
reguardless there is no way a stock 54 will fit a stock 51. they are completely diffrent. since you have the 51 the glass should be cheeper if you keep the stock split. it's simple flat glass call a local auto glass shop you might find a deal! GT
i know they are a 1 piece and you can buy the "v-bend". Looking for other options as well. Also would be easier ot find trim pieces as well if it were the case. I know the dash is diff. but didnt know the front cowl was. I wonder if the hole is the same. I need ot find someone locally with a 54 or 55 and do some measuring here. Thanks for the info guys. ________ Fidelity Bond Advice
Hey Kyle for sure the 54 and the 55 will not fit. They are a rounded glass and ours have a point in the center. Check out this link. http://www.smithshotrodglass.com/prod01.html I have talked to these guys at a car show and have seen their work. It really is excellent quality and you can put every piece of glass in your truck for under $500. The windshield that I'm going with is the one pictured in the yellow truck on their website. It is flat glass and two pieces that are butted together to make one piece. This will elliminate your chrome strip in the center of the glass. They really do seem like nice guys and are willing to work with you. They will also make the glass and ship it to your house. Give them a call and see what they tell you.
