Evan, When I Took The The Wood Out Of My 58 Cameo their Were Traces Of Red Paint On Them I am Not 100% Sure As To If It Were factory Tho,Could Of Been a Re-Spray? But The Bed Side's Look Like The First Layer Ever Shot With Paint From The Factory,The Metal Strip's Were Rusted From The Years and had No Paint On Them When I Took Them Out, I did Not See Any Traces Of Black Paint On Them.i am Just Telling This For What It's Worth! and hot Rodding My Truck, so It Wont Be Original, looking At Hickory For Mine. Their Mite Be a True Cameo Purest Lurking That Could Give You a true Definite Maybe? Good Luck With Your Truck! Allen
Yes the whole inside of the bed was painted the accent color. Had to dig out some old pickups'n panels in print to confirm that one. Chris
That's great, thank you. The boards are clear coated on all six sides so all that needs done is to drape off the rest of the truck and paint them and the strips the trim color. The judges must be lenient on this because the truck has done well at shows with nothing being said but right is better.
Its Just Me Evan, But I Would Leave It Alone, and Could Care Less What The Judges Thought!!!!!! Let Me Also Throw This In The Mix, I Have a 1/18 Scale 57 Cameo Model From Ertl That Says Licesed By The GM Corporation, Truck Is Orange With Cream Trim (The BED IS BLACK) just Saying But Were Did They Get The Info From! I am Just Saying Here and Not Trying To Start Something But! Did All Cameos Come With Bumperets? Did All Cameos Come With Spot Mirrors Drivers Side Or Both Sides,Hmm, Here Is One Did They All Come With Outside Sun Visors? Again, I am Not Trying To start Anything Here, But Evan, You Have a Beautiful Cameo! I'd Drive and Enjoy The Hell Out Of It and Could Care Less How Politically Correct It is To A Judge, Enjoy Your Beautiful Truck! Allen
Hey Chris, By The Way, Paysons Car Show Is On The 28th! Think You should Bring one of Those Nice Trucks Of Yours Up The Hill That Day and Show It OFF! Thanks Again For The Hood Emblem! Take Care.. Allen
