Sorry, but this is not related to the specifics of this site, but I wanted to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas. I just started my holiday (10 days off), and as soon as I get the kin out on Monday, it's back at it on the truck. Almost done blasting the frame (geez, how many times have I said that before). This portion of the project has turned into a career. But, once that is done, I'll finally feel some sense of accomplishment.
Anyway, just wanted to tell everyone Merry Christmas, and stay safe.

Merry Christmas to you too. I hope you finish blasting your frame on your time off. Don't forget to post some pics so we all can follow your progress. May the new year be better.

    christmas update

alright guys. gotta share. Got two really cool presents last night and this morning. got a 1-1/2 ton race jack, and an hvlp gravity feed paint gun. I'm the luckiest guy in the world ;)
I'm curious if any of you have used the POR15. I'm thinking bout using my old paint gun for it, and savin the new one for primer and top coats. should i be this careful with it?

Most Time's I Have Read That Guys Brush The POR15 On But I am Sure You Could Spray It
On But I Would Save That HVLP Gun For Your Top Coat! If You Got Just One Gun!

    Thanks Allen,
The guys at POR told me I could spray it, with no more than a 5% thinning. I hope that's enough, as it doesn't seem like much, but we'll see. I swear, everytime I take off work, with plans to work on the truck, it rains  . I tried blasting this morning, and I may as well be using the garden hose on it.Did get some done though, but finally blasted my last lens beyond usefullness. Now I gotta go buy some more plexiglass and make me some more. I tried spraying clear coat on the used lens to bring them back, and it didn't work. Oh well, if it were easy, everyone would be doing it, right?

Please BE SURE that you have the correct mask and filter if you spray POR 15
it is extremely dangerous if you aren't using the correct equipment!

    Thanks Glenn,
I'm using a respirator, but not sure what the filters are rated for. I'll have to check them. I actually started the painting last weekend, but due to the unusually humid winter we're having, I've been brushing. I figured it woudn't matter much on the cast parts (differential, and third member. Even the leaf springs look pretty good being brushed. Today (Saturday), I finally see the forcast for low humidity. So, I'm going to give spraying a shot.
Update on stuff, I got my Cragar Wheels last week (S/S Classics), and had tires put on yesterday (BF Goodrich T/A's). Finally something that's ready for the road :D . Still waiting for our host to exchange my rotors (six for five lug), and found a machine shop here local that can convert my axles to five lug. So close to making significant progress.
