Chevy or GMC

I could use some help, The State of AZ. says that my 1978 Chevy c-20
has a 1978 GMC frame and they want to title it as a chevy RECONSTRUCTED truck. I have owned it since new and it has never been wrecked, however AZ. says it was and they say that there is nothing I can do about it. GM says that there is no record of what Fontana, Ca.did when they built the truck. If anybody has ever heard of this happening or know of any place I can get some much needed information, I would sure be greatful! The story goes on, you would not believe what I have to do to be able to drive my own truck.

JMO, i would collect as much paperwork(all your old registration/insurance forms/safety inspection/emission tests/repair bills) you can find, of your truck.

take it with you to AZ DMV; that should be enough, to prove that the VIN# has always been the same, and the frame has never been changed.
