Hey guys, I thought I already posted this, but here goes. I may need the clutch linkage from the pedal to the throwout fork. I tried to weld up the worn out spots, and when I hit it, it literally blew up, and the right angle end is gone. Not sure what that things made of. It is the piece with an eyelet on one end, and a right angle on the other. Does anyone know where I can get one? I may just end up putting a heim joint on it, and bolting it up. Thanks for any suggestions.....Mike
It's made of some very good steel , hardened right wear the wear points are . The piece you need is usually dangling off those old unwanted 6 cylinder engies the Hot Rodders take out.... A Heim Joint sounds good but can you build it with enough adjuster length ? .
Mike, I've got one that you can have if you can wait about 10 days for it. I'm about to walk out the door for a long road trip and won't be back until monday 5-11. PM me with a shipping address and it's yours. Ken
Ken, Thanks, that would be awesome. Let me know what you want for it, and the cost for shipping, I will gladly pay you........Mike
If Ken can't find it. Our sponsor has them; part 90-825 and 90-826 if that's the part you are describing. Flashlight
Flashlight, you are absolutely correct! I could have sworn that I checked our vendor before, and they did not list them. But they do. Thanks for the tip. I will see what Ken says, as I would imagine the stock piece is better metal than the repop kind. At least I know I can get the part right here if needed. Thanks.........Mike
Mike, before I send this to you, check the wear. Hey Mike, here's a couple of pics of the linkage. It has some wear on it, so take a good look and see if you think it is acceptable. The price is right (free), but let me know what you think. Anybody else feel free to chime in as to whether or not you think it is acceptable to use or if it is too worn. Ken
You can easily have that worn part welded up and file it smooth then heat it up cherry red and toss it into a bucket of cold water to re-harden it so it won't wear fast again . If you use it like this , it'll have a stiff clutch and maybe jerky action .
Even with the wear it should work fine. Nate, I was trying to weld it up, and as soon as I hit it with the mig wire, POW! The whole right angled end just popped. It was very odd for sure. My thoughts are that even with wear on it, it likely is better quality than new repop ones, and will still outlast them. Thanks.....Mike
Ken, You should go into the shipping business if you already aren't. The linkage piece arrived today, and the packaging was a work of art. The piece looks great, and should work nicely. I cut down the old one, and attached a heim joint, but not sure I like the setup, so will likely not use it. Thank you for taking the time to send the part out. What do I owe you for shipping and part? Let me know so I can send it off. I'm hoping to get this truck driveable again soon. It's getting close, and the anticipation is killing me. I have been working on it everyday, and am really seeing the progress. Thanks again. I'll post some pics soon too........Mike
