Color behind light bar

    Hi..

    I will be painting my 1960 and 1965 Chevy trucks soon and have a question regarding the original color behind the light bar in the front of the truck.
    I understand the light bar and the trim around in (on the fender and center sheet metal) should be white. I'm not too sure about the original color from the trim to the area behing the bar. Is it black, white or the exteria color of the truck?

    I'm no expert, but every dated ad I have, sales brochures, magazine ads, etc. including my truck and my dad's truck all had white paint behind the 'light bar' as you call it. I don't recall seeing one stock original truck painted differently. But that doesn't mean that it's not so - just that I haven't seen any in all my travels of 25 some-odd years of being obsessed with these darn trucks!
