Hey, guys. I'm real new to all this, so I may not be savvy on all the right terms.

1964 C-10 3 speed with a colum shifter. On warm days, shifter glides nicely to and from each position, but on cooler nights and mornings (20 degrees and lower), I find the column shifter moves vertically sluggishly (so I'm okay going from reverse to 1st) but when going from 1st to 2nd it's incredibly hard to go through neutral and if I overshoot it, I'm hitting moving gears.

So, any ideas? Not against pulling the steering column apart and seeing what's up, but wouldn't mind a little advice for what I should be looking for.

    Thanks tons in advance.

Yup, take it apart. You will be looking for 40+ years of dirt and solidified grease.
