    Hi guys (Gals too !)

I need sopme welding and maybe a small fabrication job done , a 1/4" plate centerstand bracket cracked and came off the chassis of my Kooky Kommie Ural Moto to-day .

The bracket is made of three simple pieces and Ivan was drunk when he sort of tacked it to the frame when new , that broke and the boob I had re-weld it last time , refused to grind off the blobs and insisted he could fix it but it is obvious there was -no- penetration of the weld to is broke again and I really need it fixed .

Or better yet , a new bracket made up and welded on as the hole for the pivot pin has worn oblong .

I'll pay for this job as needed .

    TIA ,

    OK Nate!

I will show my ignorance once again. I don't have a clue what a centerstand bracket on a Ural looks like or what it does, but I have access to a "great fabricator of all things metal" who could make you one if I knew what you needed.

He's alot better than "Ivan the Drunk"!

    This is Why

...I asked for one in L.A. (land of fruits & nuts) as I need someone to look at it and copy it .

I casted my net , just in case a local lurker here would come out and offer his favorite place .

It's absurd I never took the time to learn to weld .

    Gorilla welding 101!

In my sophomore year in college, one of my core courses was welding. I learned to make a gorilla weld using an arc welder and learned to cut metal plate with an oxy/ace torch. Of course, many nightly beers at the local watering holes prevented me from ever perfecting the technique, and what the heck, dad and granddad were master welders. Lesson learned too late. I'm seriously thinking about taking a welding course at the local Jr. college here in town. I'm an old dog, but I think I can still learn a new trick!

I hear that it's not too hard. Maybe we ought to try it!;)

    Oh , Yeah ~

Oddly enough , it's a bracket that's welded to the Moto's chassis and has two tabs sticking out with matching holes in them , the centerstand is held on by a long shaft that passes through these holes....

    If'n I had pix , you'd understand instantly .

Remember Ken : ignorance is easily cured by application .

Stupid , is a whole 'nother thing

NEVER feel bad about being ignorant ~ everyone is , about something . :)
