I drilled the new holes with the same distance in between as the origenal ones 6 in total, but about a 7 cm lower as the ones in use before. The standard radiator is not factory made in an excact horisontal position, just take a look at it?The sideswings are wider on the the top then in the bottem. Then i cut out just a litle part in the bottom of the frontguard in horizontal direction ,the one with the cross in it. Just to stabellize the radator better in the frame. Dont install it to low because you need to have the possabillety to open the draincock in the front. The next step is only to cut a litle peace of the upper rubber radiator tube and to find a flexible longer one fore the bottom connection that fits. The job is allmost done. Whats Left is to mount the innerfender in the front to the frontguard.Job is done. I used about 2 hours work on this job and the result become nice. The fanblade is in the same position as when you should use the Carter adapter plate,no drilling in your block is needed and you can use the 3/8 inches belt. Good luck Martinius.
Continuing radiator position changed experiences 2. I went fore a drive in hour hilly area with the new installed engine. The 160 thermostate shows accurratly around 180 F. when opening earlyer and the needle stays there permanent. The cooling effect is sucsessfull and the engine does`nt get overheated the cabin heater is not in use. My friend the old mecanic told me that it is an advantage that a remanufactured 6 cylinder engine should not get to worm at least the first 50 miles, and i agree with him. Good luck Martinius.
