Does anyody know the correct, actually the factory, pinon angle on a 1966 short bed with the ladder bar coil spring rear suspension? My brother's 66 has had a vibration since we installed the 348 stroker motor and turbo350. I just checked the output shaft it is at 4 degrees at the rear of the transmission, the shaft is 4 degrees at the rear u-joint, but the pinon is at 10 degrees. The truck has always had a weird vibration since it came into the family in 86. It originally had the 265 with 3 speed and would vibrate enough to jump out of gear. We wrote that off to the bad transmission. When the stroker and Turbo350 went in a new driveline was made and balanced, but the vibration is worse then ever, so I am wondering if the pinon angle was set wrong from the factory. The only correction I can see is to mill a set of angled spacer for the rear spring mounts to correct the pinon angle. Any Ideas?

    10* sounds like alot
not sure about what is stock,
but the research I have done, seems 4*-6* is about right,
    depending on who you ask

I have a '65 frame out back that still has the original rear end in it. The pinion angle is 3 degrees.

if it is just a frame, the pinion could be slightly different than at actual ride height
