Has anyone purchased the firewall mounted pedal assembly from classic performance products. I did. I ordered it from Classic Parts of America and just finally received it as it had to be drop shipped from the manufacture. I get it and as soon as I take it out I know something don't seem right and when I went out to my truck I see how it fits I realized that I had been sent the wrong one. The pedal assembly is suppose to replace the dash/column support and use the bolts for the upper column mount. It doesn't even come close to touching the dash. For anyone that has ordered and received this item please tell me it isn't suppose to be like this. In the directions it clearly shows that it uses the column mount bolts. Right now I'm being bounced back and forth from classic and cpp finding out what to do. All that was in the box was the pedal assembly, not even the directions were in the box(good thing they have it on their website). To top it off they don't stamp the item number on the pedal assembly, looks like it went from the welding table to the box. No packing slip either. I had to send pictures to cpp to show them that its not the right one, even sent a picture showing me measuring the length from where it bolts to the firewall to where its suppose to bolt to the upper column mount bolts. Im waiting for a response from cpp on the pictures I sent.
OK finally got through to someone that understood what I was saying. The guy I was talking to on the phone from CPP had me send him some photos of what I received. He then forwarded them to their truck specialist who took no time calling me back. He said as soon as he seen the pictures he knew I had received the wrong part. They are sending me prepaid label, I just have to drop it off at ups and they will send me the correct one no extra charge. No hard feelings for Classic Parts or CPP and Im glad as I have lots of items I want to order from both. Next time Im going to order directly from CPP to filter out any confusion.
Well And Good ! So ; Now we know that CPP stands behind thier product and customer service like Chevy Duty does , now we'll wait to see how this product fits , install and most importantly , WORKS . Why are you dropping the stock throttle linkage on your InLine engine ?? .
Im guessing you see some of my other photos on photobucket and you are asking why I went with the cable setup instead of modifying the stock linkage to work with the holley 4bbl carb. Main reason, it was simple to install and adjust. I cut the hole out in the toeboard to mount the pedal and then just hooked up the cable and it was done. No dealing with adjusting the rods, no worries about binding and if for some reason I need to reposition the carb on the intake, no need to rework the linkage. I thought it would just make it easier and in my opinion cleaner.
Sounds Good ! My '49 came to me with the cable throttle from a '52 Torino...... I didn't know they made a cable throttle for the 235 . Link to pix and instructions perhaps ? . The Torino cross flow radiator too , I tossed that in the trash years ago Keep on keepin' on and let us know how it's proceeding .
I don't think anyone makes a cable throttle setup for the 235, I could be wrong though. I used a Lokar eliminator floor mounted pedal and lokar cable. I have a clifford intake and holley 4bbl carb so I don't that the cable throttle connected to the stock carb incase thats what you were thinking.
