Anyone know what good cylinder compression is on a 235 ci engine? The engine has 64,000 original miles on it. Also the engine seems to tick at idle, sounds like the rocker arms ticking or maybe the valves. Is this normal for this engine? The engine runs very good but sometimes it does seem to sputter a little at higher rpms. I have done a tune up on the engine but did not adjust the valves. I do not hear the valves knocking, just a ticking at idle. Thinking of trying to adjust the valves by following Nates instructions. Should I have a mechanic do this or Is it fairly easy? I am pretty sure they have never been adjusted. Engine has good oil pressure.

    Thanks

Look for 130 or better on the compression. By all means, adjust the valves. If you've got Nate's write-up, you're good to go!
