Ok..So I'm a little different than some. After I decided that I wanted to change parts of my truck to have it ready and safer for my family to drive, "hence the disc brakes, putting 350 and auto trans" I have found that it seems that we have two groups..the "OLD TIMERS" who say orginal is the only way to go and the "HOTRODDERS". Dang if you do Dang if you don't. As I found out trying to learn about these old trucks and growing attached to mine as I work on it that many different people love trucks, I'm one of them. I sorta relate this to religion...I believe in a relationship with the Lord not a title of the church a person attends..and this is what I love about old trucks..it doesn't matter if you keep it all orginal or add a few new parts...it's the relationship with it that is so special...Just thought I would get that off my chest..Happy trucking www.prepaidlegal.com/go/parrtony
RE: Dang if you do. I think that original is pretty cool even though I am a Streetrodder, but I can enjoy a little of both styles. When building a truck to drive allot, sometimes it's safe to update some things that will make your driving experiance more enjoyable, and do it in a safe fashion. It's your trucks, build them the way that makes you enjoy them to the fullest. You spend allot of money, love, and time so enjoy the sport and appreciate the work than others have put into their machines even if it's not what you would have done. The best part about looking at other peoples trucks is all the ideas that I can get. There are things that people have done that I would have never thought of. Keep building , it makes my job get better every day.
RE: Dang if you do. Agree, Wanted to say thanks that have shared their trucks, I currently ordered the patch panels for the lower cab corners,, they are great. The Mustang II system will take 4 to 5 weeks to deliver if anyone is thinking about ordering it. I was wondering if anyone knows of a quality place to get engines and rearends that don't break the pocketbook..
RE: Dang if you do. My truck is highly modified, but i'm saving my money for a 1967 K1500. My friend is guna sell it to me. It has a 4 speed manual, 350SB, shelled interior, but the fenders and doors has NO surface rust and hardly any dents. I'm guna make that truck original.:7
