well, the top of my windsheild used to leak before i got the truck and the bottom of the dash is all rusted out now. i was wondering if there are any repo dash's or anyone wit ha parts cab that has a decnt dassh in it that can be cut out or just drill all the spot welds out. id prefere to have it from a cab that can be cut down that way ill have all the metal around it as well so itll be easier to figure out where all the spot welds are in my truck, ill be able to find them on the replacement first. the floor is surprisingly in pretty good shape so thats why im not just looking for a new cab altogether. uless your near tampa, fl and can bring it to me, then ill consider putting a whole new cab on it. my truck isnt on the road yet. anyway, pics of my truck as is as i just got it are in my sig as well as links to my cardomain pages for my supras. the truck has a 400 small block thats pretty stock and the origonal auto(powerglyde i think) and still has drum brakes all around though if my memory servs last time i was at my gf's uncles house looking at it it was 5 lug. not sure why theyd swap it to 5lug and keep it drum though. thnx for any help.

You might have a nightmare under that dash. If a leaky windshield caused that damage it would be safe to say that there will probably be more rust when you remove the dash. I'm about 99.99% sure that there is no one making a replacement dash out there. Your best bet is to check ebay for a parts truck or check the junk yard.

    Williamb,
Assuming from your post you're near Tampa. Call Dennis, his number is on his website at....
    www.dennischevytruckparts.com

Very knowledgeable guy, he had a couple of complete cabs in his yard in Pinellas Park last time I was there, maybe six months ago.
    Good luck with your project

thanx guys, yeah, a rust free cab would be best. so far all ive bought for the truck was gas, a new gascap as the old was a locking with no key and i had to bust it off. a set of 291 camel hump heads to go on the sbc 400, and some tuneup parts, plugs, oil fitler, trans fluid, batery, etc... right now it doesnt move, i havent had time to really check the trans out. it seems like it isnt shifting at all, so first im gonna check the fluid then make sure the shift linkage is hooked up. worse case is ill replace it and put this one up to rebuild later if its the origonal. thanks for that site. it isnt far from my gf's house and ill try to drive over there tommarow to check the place out. hope he has a good rust free cab for a good price and a good drivers side inner fender. other ten that i need to either shorten the tilt steering column thats in it or buy an origonal column to put back in it.

well, i got my 291 camel hump heads, they already been ported and polished. before i install them im gonna have them surfaced, screw instuds and guid plates, install back cut ss valves, and better springs for up to a .550in lift. also got a performer intake for it. filled the trans with fluid(it had all leaked out due to a bad gasket on the drain plug kit) and it now shifts and moves. did the tuneup and it purs like a kitten. also, its been switched to 5 lug all around, disc and powersteering up front. forgot to see if it was a 10 bolt or 12 bolt rear. if its 10bolt ill be getting a 12 bolt for it. right now still havent driven it. hopefully this week ill get a tag and insurance for it so i can bring it home from my ex gf;s uncles house. also got a summit aircleaner for it since it was only $6 more then the air filter for the rusted cleaner it already has. next mods to purchase is a cam and lifter kit and headers. then ill get all the gaskets and stuff to swap the cam and heads, intake, headers, etc.. all on at once with ne timing chain etc.. anyway, lots to do. i missed a month of work cause i had to have my galbladder out, but things are getting back to normal now. anyway, heres a link to the cardomain page i made. not much, but ill have more pics soon.
