I am in the process of building a 87 pro street truck and I have seen in some trucks like mine from 85 model to 87 model a aluiminum instrument panel. Where you can bolt in auto meter gauges. Is this something custom made, or is there a company that makes this aluiminum instrument panels for these trucks and I guess that 81-87 would be the same right.

    Dwight,
I was not able to find any aluminum dash panels when I did mine. I have a 79 P/S truck. I went to my local sheet metal dealer. Just so happens they custom make roofing panels. Anyways, they had flat stock available that was 48"wide by 100'. It was only $2.10 per running foot. I then took it to another place that restores custom rods, adn told him to fold me an instrument panel. He did and It was only $60.00 (cash!). I riveted it in place after installing the guages. Be sure to leave an access port somewhere close to the guages. Beleive me!!!

    Good Luck!
