Distributor question

Does any one know if the bakalite insert and the spring are required in the grease cup and if so does anyone know where I can get them. Thanks for any info

Distributor crease cup

I checked up on mine and yes it has to sit there. Its also posseble to change out the old one with a newer type in steel. Ask Joe here at the forum whom sells second hand chevy parts. Deadzonetruckin is his user name.
