    Hi everyone,

Just got done B-B-queing a fresh batch of breather caps and thought of something you all may be able to help me with. (Just for you, Zig). Yes...I have been reading your posts and NOW I know where you live!!!:D

As you all know, the kids and I rescued our truck from an Old Navy store and the crusher.

I found out who slapped all these trucks together for the parent company, Gap, Inc. and have been speaking with the guys in the body shop there since January trying to find out the paint color they used. Remember, this is a low budget rebuild, so I want to spot paint it where it needs it, not do a high dollar body shop deal.

Turns out they haven't built a truck for Gap, Inc. in about five years or so and didn't remember what the exact code of the paint was, but did remember it was a stock Ditzler color.

Seriously, I have called this shop in upstate NY many times since the start of the year and always got the promise that they would get back to me,etc. and so on once they looked it up on old bills or WHAT-EVER.

Finally, last week the guy I have been speaking to asked one of the other guys what the color was and they came back with the Ditzler color called "Air Force Strata Blue". Naturally, they did not provide me with the paint code, promising once again to look through old bills, etc. and so and they would get back to me (yeah, right).

For some unknown reason, I cannot log onto the Ditzler web site so I can't get any more info. Anybody know how to get in touch with Ditzler or find the code now that I have a name for it?

    Never mind

Contacted PPG right after I made this post. They handle Ditzler colors. Passed me around to several departments until I got the Auto color library. Nice young girl waded through the hundreds of "air force" blues and found the paint code for me.:D Turns out she used to work in an Old Navy store that had a truck in it, so was glad to help me out.

    How cool is that?

    Well...

Probably about as cool as poppin' down about 4 caps and washing them down with an ice cold brew.:D
