Anyone know if the on/off switch on the dome light can handle 12v? I was planning on just changing out the bulb...

Shouldn't be a problem. An engineer would have to try real hard to design a socket, wiring and the dome light contacts on the light switch to work on 6 volt and not work on 12.

WOrks fine, as do all the sockets. All you need is bulbs, a runtz on the fuel guage and an IC64 coil from NAPA.

Remember engineers got us to the moon and back

Thanks Russ and Bill. That's what I thought, but I smoked  my original one - the togle was stuck and I freed it with WD40...either the WD or the damaged switch caused me some real panic as the blue smoke started. I have another replacement from eBay to install.

It's prolly fine now , that was just you burning the WD-40 (AKA useless crap)
off after it made a dirict short to ground.....

I made my dome light up out of several old $2.00 swap meet ones .

FWIW : ANY 6 volt switch will easily carry 12 volts as 6 volts uses more amperes than 12 volts does .
